Its been a busy Fall...

Wow!! what a Fall its been so far........
........starting with late summer and me getting sick which led to gall bladder surgery....I then had to recooperate VERY fast to be able to be at my Son's Wedding and ready for dancing!!!

Oh my, was it beautiful......:))

They were beautiful!!! They stole my heart that day!!!......:))

Yep....mama's gettin her groove on!! They were all watchin out for me cuz my surgery was only 2 weeks prior......but I put all that aside and JUST had FUN!!!

This was probably one of THE MOST memorable days of my life!!! More so than my own wedding and possibly even his birth.....YES, it was that special!!! and perfect!!!.....I will never forget it :))

After the wedding was all done....................then it was Ruffles & Rust time!!! My FIRST BIG show!!

It was ALOT of fun!!! A new experience, ALOT of work~but FuN work~ :))

And Since it was OCTober....it was Breast Cancer awareness Month!! So.....I sported the pink hair and my wonderful shabby apron with my B.C Ribbon on the front.....specially made for me by Shabby Cowgirl!!!

Lost my Mom to Breast Cancer so this is something I like to do...

...Love you mama!!

Aww...it was so much fun though!! Next year I will do some things differently...Better!!

But I had a great time!! :))

Then you could really feel Fall settling in....for awhile there we had some beautiful weather. Our summer wasnt that Hot (literally) so it was refreshing to have some pretty weather set in for early Fall......this is my yard.....early mornin fog,.....

......crisp...clear.....beautiful!! Wonderful Joe Pye Weed growing up so tall.....just kinda wavin at me from afar......

.....While the sun shot through the trees!!! It was like God had a big MegaPhone saying "GOOD MORNING!!"........I love it :))

FinaLLy the FaLL Decor came out.......LOVE decorating for Fall.....Pumpkins, corn stalks....Rusts and Golds and Creams.......Love it all.....

....and then throw in a rusty bucket here or there....and you got some shabby country Fall goin on!!!

My Kinda thing!! :))

Now....its off to the Pumpkin Farm!! And again, we got blessed with some wonderful Weather!! It was nice....we had no children to take ((all of ours are kinda old now)) and so it was just the 2 of Us!! We had corn on the cob....hot coffee.....picked out lots of pumpkins.......watched lil kids playing...and enjoying all the fun activities......

The Pumpkin Farm really is a FuN place to go................for All Ages!!

And I had a GREEEEAAAT helper!! I like lots of pumpkins to line my steps and decorate the front porch.........and there's no way I can lift that wheelbarrow!! He's got just the right amount of muscles!! LOL.....:))

Yeah....its been a Busy Busy Fall!!

Watch for more posts to come to show all the projects that have been keeping me busy too!! Whew.....Wait'll you see!!! They're beauties!!

Vintage................Anything Vintage............oh How we LOVE Vintage!!!

Loving Vintage is a wonderful thing.......Full of wonder and old stories......

Can you imagine the stories she could tell..............:)

Especially when they start out like this piece......................and someone gets ahold of it, shows it a lil Love and all the sudden you have a stunning piece like this................

Vintage is all about vignettes........and white shabby.........oh and collections!!

Like a Clock Collection.....

and then put some HeArT into it and you get a heartfelt collage such as this!!!! very nice :)))

Ahhh Yes.......VinTaGe.........You know you Love it!!

Black & Red Extravaganza!!!

They all started pretty bland.....or should I say "blonde".........first the blonde table that really had no life to it, and then the bland chairs.......My Best Friend, (who is the client also) said she wanted a set to put in her kitchen that could be a casual place to eat breakfast......do schoolwork with the grandkids....and it had to coordinate with the furniture she already had.......

And then.......with a lil Red Paint......................

And then add in some Black.......................................and you have a re~done Table....that is pretty stunning if I do say so..............heehee :)

kinda reminds you of a designer rocket, huh?? hahahaha..............no seriously...sure is purty!!! After all, look at all the work put into her!! whew............((oh! there I am in the mirror, LOL))

Then add the black on top.....and with a lil sanding to find the red......you get this awesome rustic casual piece that ..............well, what can I say.........turned out pretty good huh?......:))

And THEN...............there were chairs!!! Dont ask me where the before pics went...((I know I have em around here somewhere))......well anyway, there were a bland brown....{{yawwwwwn}}.....but now, pretty in black!!!

and then............................It was delivered!!!! Ahhhhh.......in its new home!!!

I LOVE makin benches out of headboards/footboards now!!! Love it....I saw it somewhere (forget where) once upon a time ago....and so we tried it...and this is what we got............

We took the footboard....cut in half.....secured it to ea side of the headboard.....and....there ya go! Then, we found some old siding for the seat....sanded down....................and you got yourself a pretty neat bench!!

So.....we wanted to do it again............

this time........we found a Jenny Lind frame!! Loved it!! again.....cut, secure..make frame....create seat.......

Bing...Bang.....Boom...........MasterPiece!!! This one was, of course, done in Annie Sloan....first Graphite on the rings......then Duck Egg Blue on the body.......then a watered down wash of Old White

Then..........to top it off.............a generous coat of Annie Sloan Clear wax for a sheen like no other!!

Okay so I find these Dressers in a barn......One of them I havent yet done up....but this one I went after!! I was determined....it was my first attempt ((in a very long time)) of taking something that just seemed so close to trash and turn it into a treasure!!

oh yeah....she was charming....NOT, haha....

But, you know.....I was determined!!

So I got her down to the bones.....I realized right away that becuz the drawer at the bottom was absolute trash I had to create somthin different in the piece.....somthin that could be without the drawer or drawers??? hmmmm.......

As we went along.......it became obvious some of the drawers were ok......so I thought about a mixture....open space AND some drawers.....................and with MUCH hard work.......

OHHHHH How proud I am of this!!! Yep Yep Yep......she's a beauty!

Annie Sloan Graphite on top.....Paris Grey on drawers.....and Old White in the body

The open space is lovely too......the wire basket fits right in!!

1908 Piano Table

Okay......so my husband, son and I dismantled this 1908 piano.....Yep!! Never thought I would do somethin like that....but I did it,.......and in that,.. I have used alot of the pieces to make different things....
...One of them is....a Table......It started like this:

These were the legs that came off of each side below the key frame..........

LOVED the detail of the legs.......I debated on how to use them cuz I wanted them to show themselves well!

then......this is the door that was positioned below the key frame area and just above the foot pedals so that when you opened it, you could see into the bottom area of the piano.

I always get sooooo excited to start painting that I forget to take the "before" pics....so by the time I remembered to take these pics, I had already started painting.....ooops!!

But hey, now you see that I use the Annie Sloan paints!!!

oh yeah.....love my Annie Sloan!!!! :))

AND.......THIS is what I got when I was all done....very nice!! I love it.......:))

Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue.....with Dark Wax......and a lil Cream Latex paint used for highlights......:))

Love Love Love

...........the Legs turned out very purrrrty!!!...........

Misty's Desk

So I found this desk......and got a real nice post from a gal on my fb who wanted a desk.......showed her a pic.........and the fun began.....

It was covered in an enamel that was old and rough......so even though I was planning on using Annie Sloan....we still decided to strip and sand...........so My Stripper...{{heehee}} went to work

He worked hard on it.....almost too much....I really hadnt planned on takin it down that far cuz when Annie Sloan is used, you really do not have to strip or sand.....that is what makes Annie Sloan paint so cool to use :))...........but he worked on it and got it done up right!!

Well.....then.......I started with the Annie Sloan Old White and realized it probably was not white enough for my customer who specifically asked for "white".....so............I primered and painted with a white latex instead...................but lookie what I got afterwards.............:))

Oh She's puuuurrrrrty!!!! oh so purty..................I LOVED how it turned out!!!...........:)))

I love this so much.................that I am convinced I NOW need one done in this finished................heehee
